What's involved in my free dental implant consultation?

During your 30-minute free consultation, our expert implant dentist will listen to your concerns and what you’re hoping to achieve. A detailed assessment of the implant area will be carried out. You will be shown demonstration models of implants to show you how dental implants work and what options are available. If you need x-rays or photographs, these will be included in this session. If you would like to continue after this consultation, we will arrange for you to have a 3D scan of your jaw to help us with our planning.

What does the dental implant procedure involve?

Under local anesthetic, a small cut will be made in your jaw bone. The dental implant will be fitted into your jawbone which acts as the new root. An artificial tooth will then be fitted to this, usually at a later stage. A period of 3 – 6 months healing is required to allow the bone to grow around the implant before a tooth can then be attached. Usually, a temporary crown or bridge can be made for you to wear while this happens.

Do dental implants hurt?

Dental implants are a surgical procedure which is carried out under local anesthetic, therefore during the procedure you will feel no pain. After treatment, you may experience some pain and swelling which can last up to 1 week. This is perfectly normal and can be controlled with painkillers. Our team can give you further advice.

How Long Does The Dental Implants Procedure Take?

Each case is different depending on the treatment plan. However, in general the implant placement takes less than an hour and the addition of a tooth to the implant requires two 30-minute appointments 2 weeks apart.

The practice was already a pleasant place to visit (yes, really) under the original ownership. The new owners are equally lovely and all the staff are so calming, kind, friendly and helpful. The equipment is state of the art and they all really know their stuff. Very highly recommended..... I've used them since they originally opened their doors in around 1990 and have travelled a 35 mile round trip to use this practice since 1997 when I moved to a different area.....because it is totally worth it.

I’ve been going to this dental practise for about 4 years. The previous owners, Roger and Sue were great and when they decided to retire, the business changed hands. Now Harmeet runs the ship with the same crew as before and it’s fantastic. The staff are as wonderful and friendly as they were before and Harmeet is a very down to earth dentist that takes pride in his work. I have always been a nervous patient but I trust the team and feel they are always looking out for you. Park Dental Surgery in Mountsorell provide an excellent service at very reasonable prices. I moved to them a couple of years ago to seek a second opinion after my previous local dentist tried to scare me with potential long-term problems unless I took up their extremely expensive treatment. After consulting with their dentist Roger , who assured me my condition was not serious and easily treatable at a fraction of the cost, I decided to switch and have been with them ever since. All the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. I have also had several treatments with Gemma, their hygienist, who is also very knowledgeable and brilliant at her job. I have had many problems with my teeth over the last 10-15 years. Harmeet is the first dentist that cared about a long term project rather than patch work jobs which I have received before. He explained everything to me in great detail when I first went to see him and gave me a vision and an end goal for me and my mouth. Since then he has done extractions, root canal, crowns and bridges. The work completed is by far the best I have ever had and I have never smiled so confidently. I am usually quite hard to impress but, I cannot praise this Dental Practice, enough. I had suffered a pretty low standard of dental care for some time, at my previous dental practice in Loughborough and moved here, solely on the recommendation of a Loughborough Dental Technician I know. My situation was listened to with sympathy and understanding and a course of remedial action was suggested. This was undertaken by Richard Brown, including, initially, the removal of two roots from which the crowns had literally been broken off, which was so painless that I was unaware that the work had actually been done ! The ensuing "reconstruction" work was carried out under Richard's direction and subsequently resulted in a perfect smile. My wife has also attended the practice for a check-up and totally agrees with my opinion. All in all, everyone at the practice that I have come in contact with, is very pleasant and courteous and that is just what you need, certainly at a Dentist's, which is certainly not a place you usually look forward to visiting - well, Not Me anyway !!

I cannot recommend this practice enough! I had a consultation with Yas as I had been unhappy with my smile for a while. She was brilliant at explaining all of the options I had available and I decided to go for composite bonding. The whole team were amazing from start to finish, the procedure itself was pain free and I felt very comfortable and in safe hands.
